Worksharp's Proven Process for Preserving Your Shake Roof
Inspection and Consultation – Worksharp’s expert will conduct a
thorough inspection of your roof, including:
- Analysis and Measurement of visible and hidden decay using the latest
diagnostic equipment
- Identification of loose, damaged or missing shakes, migrating
nails, rusty valleys and flashings or loose ridge caps
- Inspection of your chimney for missing chimney caps, mortar,
masonry, flue tiles or crown cracks
Our written proposal will include:
- Roof diagram detailing square footage and roof angles
- Costs and details of required repair work and the application of
the Wood Preservation System
Repair and replacement – Worksharp replaces damaged shakes with high
quality wood shake replacements. We tighten down loose or protruding
shake nails and ridge caps with double zinc coated screws.
Cleaning- We use a leaf blower, not pressure washing,
which is damaging to your roof. Thorough gutter cleaning is included
in our service.
Protect Home and Landscape- We take care to prevent damage to your
home and landscape from debris, chemicals and roof access by our
technicians.
Brush application of Wood Preservation System- Our EPA-approved,
environmentally safe fungicide immediately prohibits further fungal
growth. Hand brushing ensures thorough treatment, and we take special care in coating
all surfaces of the shake.
Our two service options are a 5-year or 10-year guarantee.
Caulking and Flashing – We’ll caulk flashing and skylights, if
necessary. We use a 10-year warranted two-part epoxy paint for
coating valleys and flashings. Our chimney masonry waterproofing is
warranted for 10 years, and our stainless steel chimney caps carry a
lifetime warranty.
